Summer Reading Book Club Meeting #2 (Sorry!)

Hi book lovers,

I am extremely sorry for not putting up this meeting! But, here it is! :)

If you are in the book club, you read chapters 5,6,7, and 8. I am going to ask you questions below. Comment with your answers!

Chapter 5 questions:

What did Pa think the burnt out tree was?
Why did Ma tell Laura to go into the house?

Chapter 6 questions:

Why did pa go to town in the spring?
Why didn't pa take his gun with him to town?

Chapter 7 questions:

How did they get the sap to the fire?
According to Pa, what is the blood of the tree?

Chapter 8 questions:

What kind of pudding did Laura eat for supper?
What could Uncle George and Laura hear from the woods when he blew his bugle?

Thanks!!
Please read chapters 9,10,11, and 12. Our next meeting is on July 1st.

Danielle

What did Pa think the burnt out tree was?
    A bear!

Why did Ma tell Laura to go into the house?
Because she mistook the bear for the cow, and wanted Laura to get to safety!

    Chapter 6 questions:

Why did pa go to town in the spring?
    Um...to do some shopping.
Why didn't pa take his gun with him to town?
Because...he thought he would be safe, and he wanted Ma and the girls to keep it so they'd stay safe.

How did they get the sap to the fire?

  4. Chapter 5:
    A Bear
Instead of Sukey the cow being in the field, there was a bear!

    Chapter 6:
He had furs to trade for food and supplies
Pa was carrying a big bundle of furs and couldn't carry his gun, too.

    Chapter 7:
Hmmm.... they poured all the buckets beneath the tree into a big vat on the back of the wagon.
The sap is the blood of the tree.

    Chapter 8:
    Hasty Pudding
Didn't the coyotes howl back? I forgot. :P
